What’s the issue?

Poor air quality contributes to the early death of around 9,400 Londoners a year. With increasing attention from the media, authorities and everyday Londoners, poor air quality is an increasing risk to encouraging visitors, customers and staff to London.

Every Londoner has a role to play in improving air quality, including businesses that create demand for the freight and deliveries which contribute over a third of London’s road transport pollution.

deliverBEST is here to help you deliver the BEST outcomes for your business while at the same time delivering the BEST for the health of Londoners and the environment.

deliverBEST is managed by Cross River Partnership with, and on behalf of the following partners:

Cross River Partnership

Cross River Partnership (CRP) is a public-private partnership which has been delivering regeneration projects across central London since 1994. CRP works with boroughs, Business Improvement Districts and businesses to improve air quality. CRP has developed deliverBEST tool and business support programme to help businesses reduce emissions from their operations. Find out more at www.crossriverpartnership.org.

Mayor of London

Improving air quality is one of the Mayor’s top priorities. The Mayor’s Air Quality Fund supports deliverBEST business support via CRP’s Clean Air Better Business programme. Find out more at www.london.gov.uk.

Defra

Defra’s Air Quality Grant programme has awarded to a variety of projects since it started in 1997 and helps local authorities tackle air quality in their areas to reduce the impact on people’s health and create cleaner and healthier environments. Find out more at http://www.gov.uk/defra.

Better Bankside

Better Bankside is a Business Improvement District working with businesses to improve air quality in Bankside. Its mission is to make Bankside a thriving place to work, live and visit. Find out more at www.betterbankside.co.uk.

Marylebone Low Emission Neighbourhood

Westminster City Council has won £1 million from the Mayor of London’s Air Quality Fund to create a low emission neighbourhood in Marylebone. This will include a whole range of green innovations that will help deliver cleaner air and a greener city. Find out more http://marylebonelen.org.

Victoria BID

The Victoria Business Improvement District (BID) works with businesses to improve air quality in Victoria. In addition to working to reduce emissions from deliveries, the BID supports business action to reduce emissions from staff and visitor travel and from buildings. London Boroughs

Central London’s boroughs are taking action to improve air quality in their communities. The following boroughs are actively encouraging their businesses to streamline deliveries and servicing with the support of deliverBEST: City of Westminster, Camden, Hammersmith and Fulham and the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea.
